My cat Elkie is such a cutie, blind as she is she heard me come home and I was putting my groceries away upstairs when she comes up the stairs (she has only tried that one time since she got blind, and she wanted out and we declined to let her go) and she wanted to see me, or be by me! She must of missed me!

There was a box of groceries (my big pantry is downstairs) at the top of the stairs for me to carry down with flaps on it, she tried to jump over it and the flap got her and she tumbled down 5 stairs, my heart caught in my throat as I watched her fall. I knew she was coming up the stairs as she meowed her loud meow to tell me she wanted me. I ran down and got her and brought her upstairs to my mom's room and she got loved and a kiss and I carried her around and hugged her.

The hubby cut up the meat for me, I had heated up for her and was going to cut up right before she meowed and I went to see, and I put her down by the top of the stairs and she walked down them as I carried the meat down for her. We walked together, not her following the smell. In unison till I got a bit behind. She did the stairs great and knew to turn right as we got down to the bottom where her food is. Then I got there a second or two later. Put down the bowl and she ate a few bites and drank water and used the litter box and went in the bedroom and climbed in her box and laid down and I stayed talking to her till I had to put the rest of the groceries away. I left the tv on for her softly and came back after I finished.

We were just thinking last night (well I was up till after 4am last night thinking about it) that she was not eating for almost 3 days and that maybe we should get her put to sleep before she was in any pain. Then last night right after 4am she looked for food and ate a bit and then more 2 hours later. I think she knew what we were thinking of doing and maybe she can get well enough to be living just blind, not sick. She is so skinny now, more so than when we went to the vets. I told the hubby it was a sign from God. Please think good thoughts of my sweetie Elkie please.

Trying to jazz up this blog with some color. Blue is my favorite color. Not exactly where I want to be yet with it, but at least it is not all white!

We got some snow last night. Not much, about 2 inches and it melted today in the sun, well almost all of it. But the rain before that was horrid. With lots of strong winds. I heard them howling in the basement where we have a room. And actually went upstairs to look out, that is the thing I miss the most about having a rooom in the basement, no windows to look out. But I love the privacy and our own bathroom. Well we had our own upstairs, the master bath, but everyone used it too. Close tothe back door.

There were branches are on the ground and there is water laying in fields about everywhere we looked today when we went to the *big* town of Merrilville. It is about 45 minutes away from us. We could go there or to Msihawaka but I am used to Merrilville.

We hit the Sam's club to price elliptical trainers, they had one for $800 or $600 I forget, my hubby has the paper where I wrote it down at. When he got home he checked online for them and they were about $1999 for the same model number, quite a savings.
But I am not sold yet. I would want to try it first. My hubby is a big guy, size 15 shoes and weighs about 365 and is six feet 3 inches tall. We need a super heavy duty one for us! And I am not petite at all, for sure!

And we hit Dick's Sporting Goods where we got to try this one out. The E95 by Sole. The one we planned to see. It was great, I even got on it, no easy feat for me, Miss Uncoordinated. I liked it, though the stride felt like it was a bit to long for me at 20 inches. I know nothing about them, but my left foot would pick up on the back when it went around. It felt good doing the machine though, with my fake knee and all. I have not been able to ride a bike and that has bothered me since last summer when I wanted to start riding them again.

The reason we are considering getting one is because the hubby had back surgery in January and his surgeon wants him to get to walking 3 miles a day and he can only get to 1/2 a mile before his knees gives out. He has osteo arthritis in both knees and rheumatoid too. So we heard an elliptical machine was easier on your joints. I would prefer to walk in water and exercise at the Y but their rates for none members have gone up so much, I used to be able to go for a session for $12 for 6 weeks now they want $60. Too much for me. Though it is the best exercise for my joints.
I have not been since right after I got my knee in 2006. I think this elliptical machine will do it all, your body everywhere, but man they sure will take up a lot of room and of course the hubby wants to be able to watch tv. I said the computer can go back in the dining room but of course again he wants that to stay in the living room too. He is sure spoiled.

Well I am off to do my other computer stuff...have a nice night.

I will say a prayer for Elkie but I think she is already telling you she is ok for now. I don't think that was a coincidence that you and hubby were talking and then she began to eat! She's not ready to go yet...you'll know when she is. I have two bad knees so I know of what you speak! I also have a bad shoulder and feet. I plan on walking gently soon a little at a time. I am on a diet but need the exercise to help me along. I am also getting ready to quit smoking after 30 plus years! I need your prayers too! Have a great Easter with hubby and family. Glad you found me and I found you back!

Debbie,
It sure is hard to get moving when you have things that are bad on us. I have had two operations on my back and still am hurting, no more operations for me! It is hard to get moving and motivated when you hurt, and so hard to lose weight. I will have you in my prayers when I ask for help in mine!
Glad I found you too!
