Hi I am Nancy and I live in a small town in Northwest Indiana. I am a stay at home mom and wife to my husband Mike. We also have my mother Irene and my son John and my almost daughter in law Andrea live with us.
In 2010 John and Andrea will be married after they both graduate from college. My son also works at the college in the computer lab, it is right next door to us and he may walk to it at anytime if he likes. He does too, mostly in the warmer weather though.
We all live at the end of a dead end road where it is very quiet except for our rooster crowing. Or our dog barking, and she barks at everything that comes into our driveway, including us. She is a labrador, Daphne is her name and we also have our 2 cats Cheerio and Elkie. We have 12 chickens and 1 rooster. I am anxiously awaiting the eggs that should be here anytime.
My daughter Amy graduated from college last December and she now lives in Michigan City with her fiancee' Matthew. They will be married in just a few months. In March of 2009. The wedding is going to be a big one, which I am not looking forward to. I mostly like to stay at home, and not see many people. So that will be very hard for me to participate in a wedding.
Amy has her own photography business http://amystraka.com/ and she also works as a paraprofessional at Elston Middle school and is going back to school in January.
She just got into grad school, her next stop is a teaching license and then a graduate degree in SPECIAL ED 6-12. She has been wanting that for a very long time.
I love the fall and we just had a spectacular one, but is over now and winter will be here soon, we are expecting an inch of snow overnight, with the temperatures dipping into the low 30's.

So nice to see that you have visted my blog. Hearing that you have chickens!!!! I had to have a peek at yours. Gar loves chickens, and one day when we get our farm, I am the one who hopes to have chickens. But of course they had better stay out of my garden. OR ELSE! We might need a big fence.
Thanks for stopping by, I look forward to seeing more posts from you.

these chickens would strip a garden in no time! they scratch in it and ruin my flowers! but they are such fun to watch, and when they start laying all the time I will be happy, right now I am getting 1 egg every other day.
Thanks for following my blog. I'm so glad you got started. I checked a while back and you didn't have any posts. I'll be sure to stop in again. Welcome!
